Self-Empowerment Through Embodiment.
Embodiment is an essential part in personal growth. It is a vehicle to connect to one's true, authentic potential, which lies dormant in people's body.
Embodiment is to honour yourself.
The majority of people use their body as a vehicle that transport the mind from point A to point B with a series of automatisms. We have forgotten the body to live mostly in the mind.
Most people have a tendency to live in the mind, trying to solve problems, work out what the next step in life is going to be. Living in the mind is the cause of disembodiment and dissociation. It creates doubt, fear and as result, inaction. We have forgotten who we truly are.
The human body stores all the information that receives whether conscious or unconscious. Every word, every thought, every experience has an impact on the body, the present and the future. It is then stored in the body as energy; energies that shape character, personality, beliefs and behaviour. Trauma causes such energies to be reactive, resurfacing automatically before what an individual may view as a threat or a good experience.
From early childhood, the majority of embodied information is learned from other people, the environment, culture and the standard code of behaviour imposed by society. Not exactly the mould for authenticity. Whilst it is important to learn and follow the rules in order to function in society, it limits a human being's true individuality, expression and personal development, and with it, most possibilities for growth.
The assimilation of rules and regulations become the comfort zone, limiting the individual, as this is all we embody, neglecting and forgetting other parts of the self, that once natural and familar become alien to the self. Often moving out of the comfort zone is remembering who you are.
Embodiment is a series of conscious choices followed by multiple benefits. It is the exploration of life with a sense of control for a less reactive existence. It allows to embody concepts, expand authenticity or to modify and improve behaviour. It is a return to the true nature of each individual, which has been buried under multiple layers of information, rules and beliefs that mostly serve the uniformity of society, not the individual.
The purpose of embodiment is the restoration of an individual's intrinsic nature. As the more authentic parts of the self are restored, one separates from the automatisms that make the human body a vehicle that merely moves from A to B without thought or conscious choice.
With practice, it connects body and mind. Such connection allows for a more expansive expression, which in time has healthy and positive effects on character and personality.
It also opens numerous doors in someone's spiritual journey. Embodiment makes intuition stronger, deeper. The best part is that, as one regains control of the true self, limitations or personal growth is up to each individual. It is a creative process that helps to train the subconcious, as well as healing trauma through the experience of energies that replace and release the old ones towards expansion and renewal.
With every step of the process it brings a person closer to their true and unique nature.
It is a door to the present moment and all the possibilities that offers, to see beyond our limitations. Many of the limitations are either imposed or learned. With initiative, focus, practice and intention, anyone can create and design their own embodiment and healing practice. There is a method to achieve it, but there are no rules. It can be practiced anywhere, wear it like a suit anytime. It simply needs awareness to put all the elements of the process in motion.
Thus far, it has been the collective unconscious; the noise of the world that tells everyone who we are; what happens when a person decides to move beyond the imposed limitations. It is perhaps time to listen to what the subconscious self has to say, what it wants to create.
In time, embodiment changes everything that needs to be changed, as well as serving to reaffirm what it has to say. The beauty of it is, that the best parts of the embodiment process are already in your experience. Your body is full of wisdom ready to be tapped on. Are you ready to embrace your true nature?
